At RedShield we have great systems, but at the heart of deploying your application security is a team of experts with different specialties coming together at different times to deliver a protected target environment.
This requires coordination, and much like the Formula 1 race team (below) people to track progress, performance and forecast where the team is going to come on the racetrack against time.
How do we do this? Well pretty efficiently as it happens. Industry standard is 30-45mins, but at RedShield our standard stand-up length is 15min (with some exceptions!). How do we outperform like this? Our sessions skip what we did, and focus on variations from the plan, eg:
- Whats not done and why - to stimulate root cause learning and improvement.
- Whats in plan for the coming days / week - focussed on clearing constraints.
- Parking - we park our technical discussions until afterwards or special booked technical or problem solving meetings; so we can prioritise plan and progress understanding in the stand-up.
Some customers may be involved in these stand ups, so its good to get how our approach works!
